I got a fever and the only prescription is.........

No not what you think. The answer isn't more cowbell, its cow manure.

It seems that there is a new study out that says that working on a farm as a dairy farmer is good for you. Because the cow poo that you are around happens to have some bacteria in it that is actually good for your lungs. There is a much lower rate of lung cancer in those farmers compared to other folks.

The interesting thing about this article is this statement......

"Some researchers are starting to wonder whether the higher incidence of certain cancers in affluent populations — including breast cancer, lymphoma and melanoma — might also have something to do with sanitized, infection-free living," the researchers said"
So in our Howie Mandell world that fears germs we maybe be doing more harm than good.

I would have to read the original study on this one. So often, the conclusions of studies like these are the result of randomness, or there's something else driving that result that wasn't measured.

But, I have seen similar studies that indicate that children who are exposed to certain bacterias when younger develop stronger immune systems. Those who are kept sheltered might miss that exposure and have get sick more as adults.

I'll be moving close to there soon. We'll have to get some guys together and watch a game at a restaraunt in Somerset.
